Wii Still Popular, Xbox & PS3 to Catch Up?
Nintendo's Wii has enjoyed continued success despite attacks from hard-hitting Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles. While new titles like Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 have been gobbled up by graphics hungry consumers, the Wii has plodded along, enjoying its secure market niche as the fun, family-friendly video game console. With the new Wii Fit game, players can do all sorts of activities on a small foot "controller"/pad.
Currently it is being speculated that Microsoft is in the midst of developing new motion sensing hardware for the Xbox 360 but as everything with Microsoft, things are just rumors, never anything real comes out of it. Ever since the Apple iPhone came out bloggers and tech enthusiasts have been waiting, drooling thinking about a Zune phone or something inspiring from Microsoft. but, no....nothing.
Back to video games - Sony hasn't shown any interest in motion sensing games comparable to the Wii although the PS3 already is capable of such technological facets. They are obviously consumed with the high-tech-blue-ray components of their product. Will the Wii continue to enjoy a niche without competition?
Only the future will tell....

Buy a Car, Get a Free Gun!
A car dealership says sales have tripled since it started a new promotion offering the option of a free gun or $250 gas card with each purchase. Most customers have opted for the gun. "'Owner Mark Muller said: "We're just damn glad to live in a free country where you can have a gun if you want to.'" An approved background check on gun ownership is required.

THIS JUST IN....seagull
The animal world is such a crazy place. It's kill or be killed, survival of the fittest, evolution of the species and all that. That being said I think this seagull is on the verge of an evolutionary breakthrough. He's doing his part for the survival of his species. Although he doesn't realize that he's teaching the pidgeons too...

CO2 Saver, Reduce Emissions from Your Computer
April 22nd was the 1st birthday of the CO2 Saver application released by Snap.com.
"Exactly a year ago, for Earth Day 2007, we released a lightweight application called CO2 Saver that allows PC users to quickly and easily start saving electricity when away from their computers.
CO2 Saver resides on the desktop and immediately adjusts user’s Windows Power Management settings to reduce their computer’s energy use when idle, saving energy and decreasing the demand on their power utility. CO2 Saver is available as a free download from http://co2saver.org/
To date, over 600,000 lbs of emissions have been saved by all CO2 Saver users, and if you are still not one of them, now it is the time to download it, install and start saving energy."

Make Way for the new BlackBerry Bold
Will this new BlackBerry Bold compete directly with the iPhone?
Not according to RIM who are sticking to what they are best at. Targeting the smartphone folk is where they've been successful, and it's where they plan on staying. The iPhone, as far as they are concerned, can carry on smiling. The business folk, they believe will be flocking to this new device which although features the same screen resolution as the iPhone, appears sharper due to its smaller size.
That said, I'm excited to try this new smartphone as I am a huge QWERTY fan myself. Hello business world, we have a new tool to play with.

The Battle of the Sexes: Social Networking
30 million social networkers were surveyed by a company called Rapleaf that churned some interesting results. The focus of the study was how many "friends" a social networker had, and segmenting age as well as sex groups out of the group polled. "Within this group, women averaged 62 friends while men averaged 57 friends." That said, reasonings for this have been postulated at classifying the female users as more "nurturing" in regards to social network relationship building. On the other end of the spectrum, the male users were thought to focus on " acquiring relationships from a transactional point of view" when looking at social network relationships.
Although it's tough to attribute the real rationale behind these findings, it is rather interesting!
