Wii Still Popular, Xbox & PS3 to Catch Up?

Nintendo's Wii has enjoyed continued success despite attacks from hard-hitting Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles. While new titles like Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 have been gobbled up by graphics hungry consumers, the Wii has plodded along, enjoying its secure market niche as the fun, family-friendly video game console. With the new Wii Fit game, players can do all sorts of activities on a small foot "controller"/pad.

Currently it is being speculated that Microsoft is in the midst of developing new motion sensing hardware for the Xbox 360 but as everything with Microsoft, things are just rumors, never anything real comes out of it. Ever since the Apple iPhone came out bloggers and tech enthusiasts have been waiting, drooling thinking about a Zune phone or something inspiring from Microsoft. but, no....nothing.

Back to video games - Sony hasn't shown any interest in motion sensing games comparable to the Wii although the PS3 already is capable of such technological facets. They are obviously consumed with the high-tech-blue-ray components of their product. Will the Wii continue to enjoy a niche without competition?

Only the future will tell....
