New Zealand All Blacks Performing the Haka

I think this is probably one of the coolest pre-game ritual in sports. Check out the New Zealand All Black's Rugby team performing the Haka which is traditional of the Maori people, the native people of New Zealand.

One of the most well known hakas the All Blacks perform is Ka Mate. Here are the words:

Ka mate, ka mate
Ka ora' Ka ora'
Ka mate, ka mate
Ka ora Ka ora "
Tēnei te tangata pūhuruhuru
Nāna i tiki mai whakawhiti te rā
Upane... Upane
Upane Kaupane"
Whiti te rā,!
He!

'I die, I die,
'I live, 'I live,
'I die, 'I die
'I live, 'I live,
This is the hairy man
...Who caused the sun to shine again for me
Up the ladder, Up the ladder
Up to the top
The sun shines!

World of Red Bull Ads

Go check out what Lou's got to say about the World of Red Bull ads over at AD v e r t i s e Me

...Red Bull does do some pretty cool events/contests though, such as the Red Bull BCOne where they stage 16 of the best dancers in the world against each other. Featured below is Ronnie Abaldonado who was the runner up four years in a row until 2007 when he finally became BC ONE Champion. Also showcased in the recent RB TV ads is Robbie Maddison, a 27 year old Freestyle Motocross Champion who also has a World Record for jumping across a football field of approximately 322 feet during the Red Bull New Year No-Limits event. The last 3 of 3 Red Bull TV ads introduces Ian Walsh and it broadcasts him bombing a wave that's at least 70 feet high. You can find out more about him on the section Red Bull Surfing.

Amazing Performances by Quest Crew on MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew"

Not much I can really say about these two videos other than they are probably the coolest dance performances I've ever seen. How is Dancing with the Stars even popular, these guys have REAL talent. Make sure you notice the final trick in each performance...amazingly athletic.

These videos are from the show America's Best Dance Crew on MTV. The shows finale will be air next Thursday where the winner will be announced. This is Quest Crew from Los Angeles, the soon to be winners of the show.

Evolution of Dance 2....the sequel

Like all great things (ie Home Alone & Bring It On) the sequel never lives up to the original. The most viewed video in the history of YouTube, the Evolution of Dance performed by comedian Judson Laipply finally has its sequel. Creating a sequel to a video that has been viewed over 100 million times is no easy feat and the 2nd one isn't bad, but it also doesn't have that something special the first one had. The video is doing well so far, with over 1 million views in just over a day but we will see if it has the staying power to challenge its predecessor.

Lady GaGa - Just Dance Music Video

In keeping with the theme I started this morning of posting catchy songs, here's some song that's on the radio every single time I turn it on. No idea who this Lady GaGa girl is but it is good to see that this Colby O'Donis character looks much less like a guido in this video. Not that being jacked and tan is a bad thing.

David Elsewhere

Proof once again that YouTube can lead to stardom. Check out this guy.

David "Elsewhere" Bernal (born August 2, 1979) is an illusionary dancer from Santa Ana, California. He became known through a viral video clip (Often titled Kolla2001) of himself dancing to Kraftwerk's song Expo 2000 recorded at the Korean-American talent show Kollaboration in 2001.

The clip showcased Bernal's characteristic take on the contemporary dance styles of popping and abstract waving. Performances of these dances were rare at the time, and the clip became very popular when it circulated on the internet — so popular that in November 2006 the viral marketing company, The Viral Factory, collated page-impression figures from websites such as YouTube and Google Videos. They determined that, as of November 2006, this video had been viewed over 200 million times, making it the 8th most viewed video.

Bernal was later hired to participate in advertisements for Heineken (dancing to "Cobrastyle" by the Teddybears), Volkswagen, iPod, 7-Eleven Slurpee, Pepsi and Doritos. He also made a cameo appearance in the movie You Got Served and TV performances including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. [Wikipedia]

2008 Election Dance Off

Everyone is tired of the back and forth. Obama says this, McCain says that. It's time we take the campaigning back the streets and by that I of course mean dance battling. It's finally time for one of the candidates to take the reins and let the other one know, "You Got Served."

Bill O'Reilly Does It Live

I know this video is a little old but I just recently saw it again and it makes me laugh every time. In case you haven't seen the video of Bill O'Reilly freaking out, it is from back when he hosted Inside Edition.

And just in case you can't get enough of this video, you can buy a t-shirt of it.
