Eminem has a new single for his new album Relapse. The song, We Made You, also has a music video. No surprise here that it's directed by the same guy who made Without Me but anyway, my thoughts are ehhhhhhh.

In case you missed it, here's the new, high-definition intro that debuted Sunday on The Simpsons. It's rare that a TV show's intro merits much chatter, even online, but The Simpsons has sputtered by for more than 19 years on the same poorly drawn animation. Even long-absent fans may have tuned in this weekend to see how one of television's most famous openings had evolved. Or they at least checked out the official YouTube clip, which was posted Friday and already had over 750,000 views by Sunday. The result was a healthy burst of buzz for a show that's otherwise been on the cultural back burner for years now.

Weak Password Brings 'Happiness' to Twitter Hacker

An 18-year-old hacker with a history of celebrity pranks has admitted to Monday's hijacking of multiple high-profile Twitter accounts, including President-Elect Barack Obama's, and the official feed for Fox News.

The hacker, who goes by the handle GMZ, told Threat Level on Tuesday he gained entry to Twitter's administrative control panel by pointing an automated password-guesser at a popular user's account. The user turned out to be a member of Twitter's support staff, who'd chosen the weak password "happiness."

Cracking the site was easy, because Twitter allowed an unlimited number of rapid-fire log-in attempts.

"I feel it's another case of administrators not putting forth effort toward one of the most obvious and overused security flaws," he wrote in an IM interview. "I'm sure they find it difficult to admit it."

The hacker identified himself only as an 18-year-old student on the East Coast. He agreed to an interview with Threat Level on Tuesday after other hackers implicated him in the attack.

The intrusion began unfolding Sunday night, when GMZ randomly targeted the Twitter account belonging to a woman identified as "Crystal." He found Crystal only because her name had popped up repeatedly as a follower on a number of Twitter feeds. "I thought she was just a really popular member," he said.

Using a tool he authored himself, he launched a dictionary attack against the account, automatically trying English words. He let the program run overnight, and when he checked the results Monday morning at around 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time, he found he was in Crystal's account.

That's when he realized that Crystal was a Twitter staffer, and he now had the ability to access any other Twitter account by simply resetting an account holder's password through the administrative panel. He also realized he hadn't used a proxy to hide his IP address, potentially making him traceable. He said he hadn't used a proxy because he didn't think the intrusion was important enough to draw law-enforcement attention, and "didn't think it would make headlines."

He said he decided not to use other hacked accounts personally. Instead he posted a message to Digital Gangster, a forum for hackers and former hackers, offering access to any Twitter account by request.

"I ... threw the hack away by providing DG free accounts," he said.

Fox's Secret Millionaire Comes to San Francisco

Fox's newest reality show "Secret Millionaire" featured San Francisco in the most recent episode. The "millionaire" was online advertising entrepreneur Gurbaksh Chahal who went undercover and lived in the Tenderloin for a week.

Here's a little more about the show:

Like the British version, the Fox show will feature wealthy benefactors each week that will go undercover in the most deprived neighborhoods of the United States. 24:Redemption

Don't get too excited, while there was a 2 hour premiere event of 24:Redemption on last night the show won't be returning until January 11th. When the show comes back I'll try and give some regular updates of the Jack Bauer kill count & various other things of note from the show.

According to Blogs4Bauer, Jack was able to rack up 17 points in last nights episode (14 kills & 3 DAMMITS). Here's what else they said in the episode recap:

So what did you think?

My thoughts. I thought it was good. When I heard Jack was going to be in Africa - I expected that Season 6 was not the worst that Fox could offer. However this 2 hour installment was pretty good. There was some old-school Jack Bauer shooting, and a few “dammits”. I could have done without the filler with the junkie and would have liked fewer commercials.

The previews for Season 7 has me pumped up for January. I said to myself that I wouldn’t waste my time blogging for Bauer if it meant sitting through another crappy season. Last season was really hard to watch (and even harder to blog about).

Whatever we post about - we are all fans of 24 and want Fox to let Jack be Jack. Hopefully we can just put Season 6 out of our memory (sort of like Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom). So stay tuned to Blogs4Bauer as we all gear up for Zombie Tony’s return in January. If Jack Bauer can come back from the dead (twice), Tony can do it at least once.

Hole in the Wall

While enjoying the Bears/Colts game Sunday night my friends and I were bombarded by commercials for Fox's new series, Hole in the Wall. So the premise of the show looked pretty ridiculous, fit yourself through a moving hole in a foam wall. Apparently the show was such a hit in Australia that they decided it needed to come to the US. I doubt the show will be around more than a few more episodes but it definitely lends itself well to YouTube clips of people getting smacked by the wall and taking a tumble into the water. Weekend Preview - EPL Begins....

Something to look for this weekend is the start of the English Premier League (EPL) tomorrow, August 16th.
